I am from the Shreveport area and graduated from Caddo Magnet High School.
I graduated from Northwestern State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of
Arts in Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree and Gifted
Certification at LSUS in 2010. This is my fifteenth year to teach.
I have had experience in second through eighth grades, including gifted. I
love working with the wonderful kids and teachers at Eden Gardens!
My husband is a P.E. teacher and coach at Walnut Hill Middle School. He is
so excited that football season is here at last! We have two children, a
seven-year-old named Walker, who is a second grader here at EGM, and a two-
year-old girl named Weslynn. I've had lots of fun with them this summer, but
I'm ready to get back in the swing of things at school! While I'm not
chasing my children, I enjoy cooking, reading, and going to the movies.
I love teaching and children, and I can't imagine doing any other job.
My mission for the class is for my students to have fun while learning! By
using hands-on-learning, technology, and problem-solving, I hope to help
foster a love of learning! I also wish to create an environment where
students feel comfortable expressing ideas and showing their creativity. My
students will work cooperatively and independently to reach their fullest
potential!
