I am so excited to be in the first grade with you at Fairfield! This will be
my 19th year to teach. I have had the opportunity to teach
Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. You will be my 14th first
grade class and we will have a fabulous year.
I have a wonderful husband named Jerry. He is an accountant by profession
but spends much of his spare time feeding horses and cows, looking at
pine timber, operating a bulldozer, backhoe, or tractor, and doing other
outdoor activities. He likes to watch Westerns and "throw" a rope (lasso),
but he doesn't have much time for that right now. We live with my dad in
Homer. My dad has about 2 dozen bantam chickens and 5 donkeys that keep us
all busy too.
As for me, I love teaching! I am always looking for ways to be a better
teacher. I really enjoy flowers and plants too. Whenever possible, I work
in my yard and dig in the flower beds. I am not much of a vegetable
gardener, but love flowers, shrubs, and trees. It seems the deer in the
woods behind our house love my flowers also! We have one cat (Tom) who often
shares his food on the back porch with racoons. Reading, spending
time with my family, and making new first grade friends every year are
important to me. Life is full of unexpected surprises so I do my best to
enjoy life one day at a time.
Learning, like life, is 10% what happens and 90% attitude. I know everyone
can learn. I believe in you, I want to help you believe in yourself. With
a good attitude and belief in yourself, anything is possible. It is
going to be a great year!
