Parents, please remember:
*School begins at 8:00 a.m. Please be here on time, so that your child can be in the classroom on time. First grade parentsare allowed to walk students to class for the first two weeks only. Beginning the third week, the children will walk to class independently.
*Lunch cost $1.50/day and breakfast $1.00/day. Please send money for the week on Monday or pay for the month. Lunch money should be sent to school in a lunch envelope with all the information completed--cash only(the cafeteria will not accept checks).
*When sending any money to school with your child, please put it in a sealed envelope with your child's name, the purpose for the money (i.e. Pizza Slice), the amount, my name and room number. Place the envelope in your child's zipper pouch. Please pay your child's school fee as soon as possible. It pays for your child's math and reading workbooks.
*Check your child's backpack for his/her daily B.E.E. folder/binder. It goes home everyday. Please send return items promptly in this folder.
*A note MUST be sent to change a child's ride home from school. If there is no change in writing, I am required to follow the normal routine.
*Home Learning (homework) is assigned daily. Home Learning grades are reflected in the "work-study habits" section of the first grade report card. Please read and discuss the Basal Reader story with your child each week. Remember to record these stories on your child's Read-at-Home log.
*It is important that your child brings his/her reading book each day, because we use them daily.
*Library books are due every Thursday. Please help your child remember to bring his/her library book to school on Thursday, so it can be returned to the library on time. If your child does not turn in his/her library book on time, he/she will not be able to check out a book on Friday, our class library day.
*I appreciate everything you do. Your parental support means so much to me. Please call me at 868-9826, if you have any questions/concerns or need to schedule a conference. I am looking forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year. It is my ultimate goal and mission to make learning a joy for my "Terrific Dinosaurs!"
