Hi! My name is Diane Douglas Taylor. I am a 1st Grade Teacher at Fairfield
Magnet Elementary and this year I will begin my 24th year of teaching at
Fairfield. I have a loving husband, Leroy Taylor, who is a mailhandler for
the United States Postal Service and an electrician. I also have a terrific
21 year old son, whose name is Gabriel. He is an art student at Art
Instruction Schools.
I am a 1984 graduate of Louisiana State University - Shreveport, where I had
a double major in the area of education. I also attended Centenary College
during the year of 1993. During the year of 2002 - 2003, I was blessed to
received a very special honor--"Teacher of the Year."
I am also an active member of First Baptist Church of Cedar Grove, where I
serve as director of the New Members Orientation Ministry, assistant director
of the Bible Study Ministry, and a Vacation Bible School teacher during the
summer.
I truly believe that the talent of teaching is God's perfect gift to me and
what I do with it is my gift back to God; therefore, it is my ultimate goal
to teach in such a way that my students will experience the joy of learning.
My mission for the class is to inspire and motivate each of my students
to learn more than just the academics by going beyond the textbooks. I will
use the eye of my heart to see and enhance the positive qualities that
lie within each student so that they can become productive and successful
citizens in society.
