Welcome to First Grade!

Check out our Newsflash

Week at a Glance for May 22nd-23rd

Dear Parents,

I want to thank you for a wonderful year!! Your children have really been a blessing to me. Each one has touched my life and I am so thankful that you shared your most precious gift with me– your child!! I hope they had as much fun as I did. I will really miss seeing their warm smiles greeting me in the morning and their hugs telling me bye in the afternoon saying "Thank you for a great day". They will never know how much that meant to me. They have worked hard all year and they are ready for their journey in second grade. Have a GREAT SUMMER!! Don’t forget to read and practice your math facts!!!

Grading System for First Grade:
The grading system is as follows: O - outstanding, S - satisfactory work, N - needs improvement, and U unsatisfactory. In order to monitor the students' progress, I will begin immediately grading tests and assignments. These grades will not be included on the first nine weeks report card; instead the report card will address only work and behavioral skills. The remaining report cards will reflect grades earned in each subject. On the fourth nine weeks, all students must have an O, S, or N in Math and Reading in order to be promoted to second grade
