This is our final edition of What’s The Buzz? Can you believe it is so near the end of your child’s kindergarten year? It has been a pleasure and a joy working with your children this year. Their enthusiasm for learning and their hard work has made it a successful year and the year has truly flown by! I love being a part of FES!

Thank you to all of you for your help with activities and donations for the activities throughout the year. The children had many good times. I could tell by the smiles on their faces. Your help and participation made it a great year for the children.

Please continue to practice the report card skills. Please practice the skills and refresh your child’s memory often over the summer. This will help your child get off to a good start next year. The words on the kindergarten word list will be reviewed for the first three weeks of first grade. After that, your child will get a list of 6-10 NEW words EACH week. Written spelling and math tests will also begin next year. It is very important to retain the words learned this year and to practice the sounding and blending skills. A list of the standards for first grade can be found on the Louisiana Department of Education website under the Teacher section, under Common Core Standards.

Have a safe and happy summer!
