About RAP/RECAP: "RAP" or "Review and Preview" and "RECAP" are daily classwork assignments. Students copy down the question(s) and answer it following the format and length required. These assignments will be reviewed by Mrs. Fitz as necessary and may be shared with the class. Unit RAP/RECAP assignments may be evaluated at the end of each day, the following day as well as on a weekly basis. An end of unit grade will also be given. This grade is based soley on completion of the assignment - including required length and format - and organization and neatness. Many questions focus on "what you think" and "your opininion" as well as a review of unit facts.
RAP/RECAP format includes: A new sheet of loose leaf is utilized each week. In the top margin area the student will write: "RAP Week of (Month and dates). Students are then to skip one line before creating their first entry. Each entry is to be identified in the left side margin with the day of the week. The question is then copied along with the format and length requirement. Required lines should be numbered along the margin underneath the question. You will find an example of the set-up in the Notebook Section of this web page.
**List - just list your answers; sentence format not required; CS - Complete Sentence format is required; GO- use a Graphic Organizer to illustrate your answer. The # indicates how the minimum number of lines to use when answering. The # does NOT require a specific number of sentences. (ex. CS-2 indicates that answers should be written using complete sentences and students must use at least 2 lines/not necessarily 2 sentences) A line is defined as margin to margin. **please ask Mrs. Fitz if you have questions or see Master Copy of ISN**
