CLASS RULES

Theatre is a discipline-based art from, and inclusion in this program is a privilege.  Therefore:

1. Try everything.  You learn more from your mistakes than from anything else.

2. Respect yourself an take responsibility for yourself.

3. Be respectful of others’ ideas, property, feelings, and personal space.  Do NOT touch the props, costumes, my computer, my desk, etc.  Do not push, shove, hit, pinch, etc., anyone else in class.

4. Particularly in a class of this kind, it is extremely important to be supportive of others and tolerant of any differences.  Any comments and/or critiques of others’ work will be couched in positive terms.  Our goal is to create a relaxed environment where we will all feel free to grow and learn.

5. Follow directions quickly and quietly.

CLASSROOM CONSEQUENCES

1st Offense - Warning

2nd Offense - Return to regular class

3rd Offense - Call to parent

4th Offense - Student/Parent conference with teacher

5th Offense - Office Referral

Note: These consequences are cumulative.  In other words, on the third offense, the student will be sent back to class and the parent will be called.  Each week the student is a warning before being sent back to class, but if a student is sent back to class twice in any nine-week period, the parent will be called.
