EARTH SCIENCE:
OBJECTIVE #1: Students will be able to produce an original puzzle and then transfer their puzzle making abilities to a Pangaea Puzzle.
OBJECTIVE #2: Students will be able to correctly complete the Pangaea puzzle.
OBJECTIVE #3: Students will be able to state the proof that continents have moved over time.
OBJECTIVE #4: Students will be able to discuss Alfred Wegener's theory entitled Continental Drift after researching HIS IDEAS AND EXPLAIN WHY HIS THEORY WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY OTHER SCIENTISTS.
OBJECTIVE #5: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMPILE a list of evidence that supports continental drift.
SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT HOMEWORK: Students will complete their experimentation this week and complete all data collection by Thurs., 11/19/09 and produce a graph of data.
REGULAR HOMEWORK: COMPLETE PUZZLES AT HOME AND RETURN PANGAEA PUZZLE FOR PRESENTATION. READ CH. 10 SECTION 2.
LIFE SCIENCE: Objective #1: Students will be able to LIST THE CHARACTERISITICS THAT ALL PRIMATES SHARE: OPPOSABLE THUMBS, BINOCULAR VISIONS, ROTATING SHOULDERS, ETC.
OBJECTIVE #2: Students will be able to LEARN THE HOMINIDS THAT CAME BEFORE US IN CHRONOLOGY ORDER, THEIR NAME, AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS.
OBJECTIVE #3: Students will be able to EXPLAIN THE TWO RATES OF EVOLUTION AND HOW THEY WORK.
7th grade Objective 4: Students will be able to EXPLAIN SPECIATION AFTER VIEWING THE LASER DISK PHOTOS OF THE FINCHES OF THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS.
Objective : Students will be able to RELATE THE GAPS THEY FOUND OVER THE WEEKEND WHEN THEY RESEARCHED DARWIN'S THEORY.

EARTH SCIENCE:
1st OBJECTIVE: STUDENTS WILL TRACE THE MOVEMENT OF THE CONTINENTS AFTER PANGAEA AND EXPLAIN HOW ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY CHANGED OUR VIEW OF OUR PLANET.
2nd OBJECTIVE: STUDENTS WILL EXPLAIN THE THEORY OF SEAFLOOR SPREADING AND HOW CLUES USING TECHNOLOGY HELPED PROVE THIS THEORY.
OBJECTIVE #3: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO RESEARCH THE CURIE POINT AND FIND OUT ITS CONNECTION TO THE HEATING OF THE OF IRON-BEARING MINERALS UNDER THE OCEAN TO THIS POINT.
OBJECTIVE #4: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN THE CLUES THAT WERE USED TO SUPPORT SEAFLOOR SPREADING.
HOMEWORK: RESEARCH SEAFLOOR SPREADING THEORY AND ITS 2 PRIMARY AUTHORS: HARRY HESS AND DIETZ.
PROJECT HOMEWORK: FINISH EXPERIMENTATION & DATA COLLECTION IN ORDER TO PRINT DATA OUT & GRAPH IT FOR 11/19/09.

OBJECTIVE #1: STUDENTS WILL be able to complete the viewing of the Earth Revealed video "Seafloor Spreading".
OBJECTIVE #2: STUDENTS WILL take notes about the video.'s topic and write a 5 sentence one paragraph summary.
OBJECTIVE #3: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO graph the seafloor's heights from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge to the coastlines of Europe & U.S.A.
OBJECTIVE #4: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE the graphing activity and analysis what the graph is showing them.
ACTIVITY: STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE THE GRAPHING ACTIVITY AT HOME AND RETURN WITH IT TOMORROW FOR A DISUCUSSION.
HOMEWORK: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE READ THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PLATES THAT COMPOSE THE MANTLE OF THE EARTH AND NAME THEM.
