Earth Science: The standards in Unit I are covered in this student experience of Inquiry in Science. Refer to Unit I standards section of the website.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE WILL SOMETIMES BE MODIFIED DUE TO ASSEMBLIES, INCLEMENT WEATHER, FIRE DRILLS, FIRE ALARM DISTURBANCES, MISBEHAVIOR, RETEACHING NEEDS, AND OTHER INCIDENTS THAT MAY CAUSE THE LOST OF CLASS TIME.

PLEASE PRINT OUT THIS WEEKLY SCHEDULE TO ENABLE YOU AND YOUR STUDENT TO KEEP UP WITH COURSE REQUIREMENTS.

EARTH SCIENCE:

OBJECTIVE #1:Students will be able to CONTINUE WORKING ON THEIR CHOSEN MODULES UNTIL THE POST TEST HAS BEEN TAKEN.

OBJECTIVE #2: Students will be able to CHOOSE ANOTHER MODULE OF INTEREST AND BEGIN WORKING WITH A PARTNER TOWARD COMPLETION.

OBJECTIVE #3: Students will be able to SOLVE THE PROBLEMS/CHALLENGES ASSOCIATED WITH EACH MODULE.

OBJECTIVE #4: Students will be able to FINISH AT LEAST 2 MODULES BEFORE THE END OF THE WEEK.

OBJECTIVE #5: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO CORRECT ANY ERRORS AND REACH A SCORE THAT IS NO LESS THEN AN 83% SCORE IN EACH ASSIGNMENT IN EACH CAREER MODULE.

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT HOMEWORK: Students must start their experimentation this week and complete all data collection by Thurs., 11/19/09.

REGULAR HOMEWORK: COMPLETE TAKE HOME TEST ONCHS. 7, 8 & 9 ON EROSION/WEATHERING PROCESSES/AGENTS.

LIFE SCIENCE: Objective #1: Students will be able to analyze the two hair samples and find out which sample is dog hair and where was it taken from in the mystery about Magic.

OBJECTIVE #2: Students will be able to state which hair sample is the one connected with the crime after careful analysis.

OBJECTIVE #3: Students will be able to state their conclusions about this case of the dognapping using the 4 pieces of evidence as proof.

7th grade Objective 4: Students will be able to

Objective : Students will be able to write their conclusions and the evidence he/she used to decide on their final suspect.

REG. SCIENCE HOMEWORK: REREAD CH. 6, SECTION 1 on Change Over Time.

PROJECT HOMEWORK: START EXPERIMENTATION & DATA COLLECTION IN ORDER TO FINISH FOR 11/19/09.

LIFE SCIENCE:

ACTIVITY: STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES THAT ACCOMPANY EVERY MODULE.

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT HOMEWORK: START EXPERIMENTATION IMMEDIATELY IN ORDER TO COLLECT ENOUGH DATA.

REG. HOMEWORK: STUDENTS WILL READ SECTION 1 CHAPTER 6 "CHANGE OVER TIME" .

TODAY'S CLASS WILL FINISH WITH EVIDENCE IN A DOGNAPPING CASE AND WITH THEIR PARTNER COMPLETE THE "whodunit" FORM LISTING THE EVIDENCE USED TO COME TO THIS DECISION.

OBJECTIVE #2: STUDENTS WILL DESCRIBE lAMARCK'S THEORY OF ACQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS & dARWIN'S THEORY OF EVOLUTION.

OBJECTIVE #3: STUDENTS WILL IDENTY WHY VARIATIONS IN ORGANISMS ARE VERY IMPORTANT.

LIFE SCIENCE: Objective #1: Students will be able to USE A VENN DIAGRAM TO DIFFERENIATE BETWEEN VARIATIONS/ADAPTIONS.

Objective #2: Students will complete their dominant/ recessive trait survey of the school population and graph the data.

Objective #3: Students will explain CHANGES IN THE SOURCES OF GENE AND  GEOGRAPHIC ISOLATION AFFECTS SPECIES.

Objective#4: Students will be able to IDENTIFY THE IMPORTANCE OF FOSSILS AS EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION. 

REG. HOMEWORK:  COMPLETE THE HIDDEN FROGS ACTIVITY AT HOME USING THE INFORMATION GIVEN IN CLASS.  OBJECTIVE: CREATE A FROG MODEL CAMOUFLAGED TO BLEND IN WITH ITS SURROUNDINGS.  READ SECTION 3, THE EVOLUTION OF PRIMATES.

Objective #2: Students will be able to ASK QUESTIONS AND OBTAIN INFORMATION BY READING CAI TO COMPLETE YOUR CHOSEN MODULE.
 
Obective #3: Students will be able to TURN IN ALL ASSIGNMENTS COMPLETED AND BEGIN A NEW MODULE NEXT 9WKS. PERIOD.

USE MASKING TAPE TO FASTEN DOWN EACH OF YOUR THUMBS NEXT TO THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.  LEAVE HANDS TAPED FOR AT LEAST ONE HOUR DURING THIS TIME TRY TO EAT A MEAL, CHANGE CLOTHES, AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH.  UNTAPE YOUR THUMBS AND WRITE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE.
