Class Rules
1. Treat everyone with respect including myself and school property.
(No put downs even in the form of joking)
2. Receive permission to speak or leave my desk.
3. Stay on task and leave classroom only when dismissed.
4. Return all borrowed supplies to their proper place.
CONSEQUENCES
1. Yellow slip on desk
(This is a warning only...don't ask why...just be aware that you are
breaking a rule) You may ask questions after class.
2. Pink slip on desk
(See Ms. V. after class. Please do not try to discuss the disruption at
that moment. You simply will be asked to copy a paragraph on respect
three times and get it signed by your parent.
3. Lunch Detention
(This is lunch detention with Ms. V.) Don't worry, there will be no
record of this in the main office.)
4. Parent phone call, e-mail, or conference
(Your parent and I will decide how to get you "back on track" in a more
positive manner.)
5. Office Referral
(Now it's time to get worried.) See planner for details of consequences
once you are sent up front.
***As your teacher, I do maintain the right to go directly to the
Referral Process if necessary. I am not anticipating
this to happen. I think you guys are great!
Class Policies & Procedures:
1. Come into the classroom and gather all materials needed for math.
2. Begin working immediately on the Bellringer and place your
homework out to be checked.
3. Ask questions about the homework if you had any wrong answers.
(Remember, there are NO Dumb Questions!
4. Maintain my math notebook on a daily basis.
A. Copy all notes given beginning with the "Daily Objective" and always
let me know if I need to wait a bit before erasing the notes.
B. Put a date and a title of the assignment at the beginning of classwork.
C. Keep notebook NEAT & organized in chronological order.
D. Copy & number all problems and show all work.
* There is no such term as "scratch work" in math anymore. Show all
the arithmetic done to get the answer neatly and in order.
* Work vertically. (That means working down the page leaving the
right column for showing the arithmetic needed for the answer.)
E. Write as neatly as you can skipping lines between problems. It may
take longer, but we all will be able to read it.
5. Be an active participator in class, but you can have the "RIGHT TO
PASS" on any given problem asked to do in front of the class.
6. Personally make arrangements to make up any test or quiz with
Ms. V. within five days of being absent. You will also need to check
the RED absentee folder for any handouts given while you were out.
7. Maintain a "Grade Tracker" in your notebook.
8. Sign the pencil notebook if you borrow a pencil and return the
pencil directly to Ms. V. (Don't ask why!)
9. Remain seated and QUIET when a visitor enters our classroom and
when announcements are being made over the intercom.
10. Do not give any substitute teacher a "hard time" You will have very
harsh consequences. However, if a "HAPPY Note" is left by the sub,
then the whole class will receive a treat when Ms. V. returns.
