Welcome Parents and Students, You have found my webpage! If you bookmark this page you may need to hit the refresh button to view the updates as they occur. This site will be a valuable tool for you in keeping up with what is happening in our classroom. The posting are what I intend for us to cover, but adjustments will be made as needed each day, thus the student planner is also a valuable tool to be monitored daily. Because parents are such an important part of their child’s educational process it is crucial for us to have good communication, please contact me with concerns or questions as they arise. You may call the school and leave a message for me or email me at leina.ball@stpsb.org. Your efforts to support your child are greatly appreciated. While most teenagers desire independence, it is more essential than ever that you stay involved in monitoring daily study habits, homework completion, proper nutrition and adequate rest. Meeting deadlines and being prepared for school each day are very important life skills that prepare students for educational experiences and future work opportunities. Your student should plan to engage in homework Monday through Thursday night. Please expect it and ensure that it is completed. This will include completing assignments, reading and studying for tests. A few minutes of repeated study are more effective than cramming the night prior to a test. I am looking forward to working with you this year. My number one goal for my students is for them to see themselves as readers and writers who improve with practice and and application of effective strategies.
