You are in good hands. I have taught in Washington and Louisiana at five
different schools and I am pleased to be at Fontainebleau Junior High. I have
my Master's Degree in Teaching and am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in
ELA. I am certified to teach ESL (English as a second language) and I am also
a teaching consultant for the National Writing Project. I
enjoy the excitement and challenge of teaching Junior High
students. I am a great teacher because I am a lifelong learner myself, a good
listener and a reflective person. I am also an avid reader and writer.
I grew up in Northern California in the redwood forest near the coast. My
husband is a Marine Archaeologist for the federal government and his job is
what brought us to Louisiana. We have a twenty one-year-old son and two cats.
My hobbies include photography, building stained-glass windows,
reading, writing, traveling, diving, kayaking, and hiking. We miss our
families and favorite places on the west coast, but we love the Louisiana
festivals, foods, music and people and now that we have been here 10 years
this has become a second home.
My mission is to employ a variety of teaching methods to help each student
reach their full potential by boosting their academic skills, social skills
and self confidence so they will be well prepared for success in school
and life.
