About The Teacher
My name is Stephanie Buchanan and this will be my 16th year teaching. This is my fifth year teaching at Honey Island. I have been happily married to my husband, Brett, for eight years. We have two boys. Jack is six years old and Lucas is five. I have my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. I am a LaTaap Mentor and Assessor. I am also certified in Supervision of Student Teaching. As an educator, I try to create a positive classroom community. One way to achieve this is through characer education building. We will be doing a lot of fun things throughout the year. We will have daily morning meetings,Every Day Counts, Literacy Work Stations, and Write From the Beginning just to name a few. I am excited about teaching your child and look forward to an exciting and fun-filled school year.
