Mrs. Lynn Gordon
I have been teaching for 32 years, all in St. Tammany Parish. I have been a second grade teacher at Honey Island for 19 years. This year we will celebrate Honey Island's 20th year! I have a Bachelor’s degree from LSU and a Master’s degree in Special Education from SLU. I was born in New Orleans and have lived in Slidell since I started teaching. My husband, Greg, is a builder. We have one daughter, Melanie, who lives in Baton Rouge and works for a law firm. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. One of my focuses will be encouraging a love of reading in your child. I believe that all students have the ability to achieve, grow and learn. We will use technology to learn and you will be amazed by your child's abilities and enthusiasm. My goal is to encourage a love for learning through positive reinforcement and teamwork. When away from school, I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising, working on the computer, and spending time with friends and family. I love animals. I have a cat and a very spoiled chihuahua. I can't wait to meet my students and their parents. We will work together to make this a memorable year in your child's learning. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns that you may have. I look forward to another great year at Honey Island.
