About The Teacher

      My name is Nancy Franzo.  I graduated many years ago with a Bachelor 
of Science degree in Elementary Education from C.W. Post College in 
Brookville, New York.  My family includes my husband Andy, as well as our 
three grown children, their spouses, and four granddaughters (there is a fifth
grandchild coming in January!). We also have a 
foster son who is attending the University of Louisiana at Monroe. We  
have 5 golden retrievers named Bailey, Montana, Bear,  Liberty and Piper who keep us 
busy.
        Before teaching at Honey Island I taught preschool, 
kindergarten and English as a Second language. This will be my 19th year 
teaching second grade at Honey Island.  I enjoy working with a new group of 
students and their families each year and I look forward to a great  year, this year, with your child. 

For the same reason I became a foster 
parent, as a teacher I believe I can make a difference in a child's life. I 
look forward to getting to know each of you  and working with you to make 
this an exciting and educational year for your child.
