Homework will be assigned nightly Monday thru Thursday. Most homework can be completed in about 30 minutes. Please contact me if your child seems to take significantly longer to complete the assignments. Homework will provide practice and reinforcement of topics students are learning in class. Some homework is designed to help students create helpful habits, such as nightly reading assignments. Homework also teaches students to work independently and assume responsibility for their own work. However, please continue to check and monitor your child’s work and work habits. Multiplication practice will be important and students will need your help in mastering this skill. Your child will receive a weekly homework overview on Monday. Students are to complete the homework assignment on loose leaf paper unless there is a worksheet provided. Students are to bring their completed homework to school in the homework folder on the following day. All homework must be completed neatly. The students name and date should be written at the top of the page. Students will be allowed to make-up missed homework assignments during the week that they are assigned. Please establish homework as a top priority. It is usually best to have a designated “homework time”. Make sure your child has a quiet location and necessary materials to complete homework assignments. Homework will generally require pencil and paper. This home/school connection should be a positive interaction between you and your child. Please contact me if your child is having difficulty completing homework assignments. |
