About The Teacher
I am thrilled that I will be working with you and your child this year. I think of our classroom as not just a classroom but a community that includes students, families, teachers, and administrators. In our community, we learn to care about each other and work together. Our community celebrates every member of the group. We are happy to have you and your child joining us. This will be my fifth year at Honey Island Elementary. After beginning my teaching career as a middle school teacher, I spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom. I have 4 children ages 19, 14, 12, and 7. I truly understand your excitement and apprehension as a new school year begins. It is my sincere goal to provide your child with a year of positive learning experiences that will increase their social and academic strengths. I understand that you are the most important person in your child’s life and I look forward to working with you in supporting all aspects of your child’s growth and development. Thank you for trusting me with your child. As the leader of our classroom community, I am dedicated to giving your child the best learning experience possible. You are a very important part of our classroom community, and I look forward to your participation and input.
