How do I notify the school of transportation changes?

All requests must be in writing. Please use a full size sheet of paper. The
note should include the child's full name, teacher's name, date, nature of
change, and parent's signature. The note should be given to the homeroom
teacher who will forward it to the office for approval.

What should my child do with their buzz bucks?

The Honey Hive opens on Thursday for students to spend their Buzz Bucks.
These have been earned for following school rules and exhibiting positive
behavior. Many students like to keep these in a "Buzz Buck Pouch" which can
be purchased from the school office. Buzz Bucks can not be replaced if they
are lost. The colors change each nine weeks. Students need to spend them by
the Thursday following the end of each 9 weeks.

When should we pay lunch money?

Lunch money should be paid weekly or monthly. It must be in an envelope,
with the information the cafeteria requires: Name, Oster, Amount, and Code
number. You do not need to separate breakfast and lunch money. Students
receive a lunch menu at the beginning of each month, and it will also be
posted on the school website.

What is the school's policy on visitors and volunteers?

We encourage parents and family members to visit our school and be active.
All visitors and volunteers are required to sign in at the front office and
wear an identification badge while on campus. Bring your driver's license.
This is a state law and will be enforced for your children's safety. Please
sign in and out using the volunteer book in the front office, because the
PTA logs volunteer hours. This includes chaperoning field trips and helping
with parties. Unexpected classroom visits and hall conferences are not
allowed at our school. If you need to see your child or drop something off,
the office will send for them. If you are planning on meeting your child for
a cafeteria lunch date, you can notify the cafeteria by phone, or send in a
note. It would help if you have exact change for your lunch.

What should I do if my child is absent?

If your child is absent, you need to send in a note when they return to
school. Excused absences require a doctor’s note. Please see that your child
is in school on time. The bell rings at 8:20, and students are counted as
tardy if they arrive after 8:30. Instruction begins as soon as students walk
in the door. If your child is being checked out during the day for an
appointment, please send in a note notifying me of the time.
