Points for each day:
5 points for the "complete" heading
5 points for copying the "prompt" (see daily journal below)
5 points for complete sentences
5 points for answering the "prompt"
I subtract 1 point for each spelling, punctuation, and syntax error.
I add 1-5 points for illustrations each day.





Daily Journal:                11/09-11/13/2009                  

11/09/09   Look around the room and choose an item.  Write a paragraph that 
           describes the item so well that a classmate can identify the 
           item without actually seeing it. 


11/10/09   Write about a time when someone made you feel special by keeping a 
           promise.


11/12/09   Create a holiday honoring children of your age.  What might happen 
           on this special day?


11/13/09   If you could be a “fly on the wall” at any historical event, which 
           event would you choose and why?

11/16/09   Describe a gift you could make with materials 
           lying around the house.

11/17/09   What is the most rotten day you can remember?  
           What could you have done to make it better?

11/18/09   What makes you laugh? Describe an incident that 
           shows this.

11/19/09   Describe a typical vacation day spent away from 
           school.

11/20/09   Samuel Clemons chose the pen name of Mark Twain.
           If you had to pick a pen name, what would you 
           choose?
