Spelling Choices 2nd nine weeks
*Choose one activity each night to complete for spelling homework. Complete
a different spelling choice on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night. In
addition to a spelling choice, on Wednesday take a practice spelling test.
1. Chain Link Words-Cut strips of paper and write one work on each strip
of paper. Glue the strip into a chain.
2. Computer Words-Type your words on the computer. Print the sheet and
bring to class.
3. Sentence Writing-Write a sentence with each spelling word. (Choose
telling, asking, or silly sentences.)
4. Backwards Words-Write your words forwards, then backwards.
5. Hidden Picture Words-Draw a picture. Hide your words in the
picture. Have someone try to find them. Circle the words.
6. Ransom Words-Write your words by cutting out letters in a newspaper
or magazine and glue them onto a piece of paper.
7. Dice Words-Roll a die and write the word that many times.
8. Yarn or String Words-Use yarn or string to shape the letters of your
spelling words.
