Front Pocket of Binder:

Notes from PTA/School

In the front pocket of the binder you will find important papers from the school and/or PTA. Papers will be sent home in this pocket each Wednesday. Please remove and read all papers promptly; they will keep you in touch with important news and events that are happening at Lyon Elementary.

Homework/Unfinished Classwork

This is where you will find pages that are to be completed for homework and any unfinished classwork that needs to be completed at home.

Zipper Pocket:

Money and Excuses

This is where you should put all money to be brought to school (field trips, lunch, book orders) so it doesn't get "lost" in the bottom of the backpack. This is also a good place to put doctor's notes for excused absences.

Homework Agenda:

This page contains the homework assignments for the week. You can also find a list of spelling words and important vocabulary words. Please go over assignments with your child and initial nightly.

Reading Log:

Students are required to read for 15 minutes each night. Information should be recorded on the reading log each night and initialed by a parent.

Communication Menu:

These pages are to be used as a communication tool between parent and teacher. Please check this section daily. Please ask your child to let me know when there is a note from you in the log. Please do not remove any communication pages from this section. I will initial all notes I read from you and ask that you do the same. That way, we know notes have been read, even when no response is necessary.
