In order to maintain a classroom environment that allows all children to function and learn, our class will use the following classroom discipline plan. Please read and discuss the following rules, consequences, and rewards with your child. 1. CLASSROOM RULES: I will listen and follow directions carefully. I will speak with permission and stay in my seat. I will keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself. I will use good manners and always wait for my turn. I will do my best work and take care of materials. 2. MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: Green card = E Keep going .GREAT JOB! Keeps all cards:) Yellow card = S Slow-down, Warning, Caution! Loses 1 card Orange card = S Time Out to Think and Reflect Loses 2 cards Red card = N STOP! Put on the brakes! Loses 3 cards:( 3. CONSEQUENCES: 1st time a rule is broken (OOPS!) The student will be reminded of of the class rules. 2nd time a rule is broken The student will remove the Green card. (Warning/Caution). The teacher will conference with the student. 3rd time a rule is broken A student will remove the Yellow card. (Time out for reflection). The student will sit in time out and reflect on the class rule/s broken and the choices they made. 4th time a rule is broken The student removes their Orange card. (Loss of recess or center time). Parent communication will be sent home for the parents signature. ***Severe misbehavior will result in the appropriate disciplinary action.*** 4. REWARDS: Students with appropriate behavior will be positively rewarded! Students can earn weekly treats, special certificates, good citizen recognition, student of the month, prize box, stickers, free choice centers, Good News notes home, and other fun activities. Please read and discuss this Discipline Plan with your child. We will discuss, role play, and practice the plan in class. A Daily Conduct calendar will be completed daily and sent home for the parents signature. Another adult may sign the behavior calendar should a parent not be available that evening. Although a student's behavior is important, the focus should be on what was learned in school that day! I am Looking Forward to a GREAT 2008-2009! Sincerely, Mrs. D. Hebert
