FAQHow can I volunteer?
There will be many ways, throughout the school year, in which you can volunteer. As the school year progresses and the students settle in, you may join us in class to read, play, and work with the children. We may have field trips that you can join us for. If you are not able to come to school because of other obligations during the school day, don't worry. I might send something home for you to work on and you can send it back to school. Eventually, I will encourage ALL parents to participate in a journal and reading log. If you have any suggestions or other ways that you might be able to contribute to the learning of all of our students, please do not hesitate to contact me and we will arrange for your involvement. Thanks! Is Pre-K After School Care free? Can any pre-k student use it? Pre-k After School Care is FREE to all pre-k students who qualify for free or reduced lunch status at Lyon Elementary. This is very important...ALL students MUST be picked up from the cafeteria by 5:30pm. Arriving late to pick up a student will result in a costly fee that will need to be payed. Ms. Talbot will be working the ASC program and can answer your questions about ASC when you arrive to pick up your child. What if I need to change the way my child gets home? You can either call our school office before 2:00pm and report the change or write a note and put it in your child's folder that morning. All folders are checked during the school day, and the transportation change will be noted and arranged. How do I pay the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch ? You may pay the cafeteria staff directly, or you may send the cafeteria payment in your child's folder. ALL payment envelopes MUST have the student's name, teacher, amount, and what the money is for, on the envelope. Cash, money order, or check made payable to Lyon Elementary School are accepted. |
