Week of November 2-6, 2009

Overview
In Reading, we will discuss retelling. We will review character and setting.
In Language Arts, we will learn about proper nouns. We will also continue studying plural nouns this week. We will continue identifying sentences and their parts: a complete thought, words in the correct order, capital letter at the beginning, and punctuation at the end. We will practice writing sentences.
In Math, we will complete our unit on subtraction. Please practice math facts at home each night.
In Social Living, we will begin a unit on Thanksgiving.

Announcements
Please join us this Thursday, November 5th for Lyon Lagniappe.
Thanksgiving holidays will begin November 23-27th.  Have a great
holiday.
The students write dictation sentences on the spelling test. I will be checking for capital letters, punctuation, spelling words spelled correctly, and all words in the sentence written. The sentences will have words previously learned, as well as, spelling words from the present week.
