Week of November 30- December 4, 2009
Overview

In Reading, we will discuss story telling and predictions. We will review character and setting.

In Language Arts, we will learn about verbs. We will blend words with long a sound and learn to add inflectional endings. We will also continue nouns this week. We will continue writing sentences using correct sentence structure and punctuation.

In Math, we will continue addition and subtraction. using story problems. Please practice math facts at home each night.

In Social Living, we will begin a unit on Christmas traditions around the world.
Announcements

Art Time will be comingto our class on December 15th. We will be making gifts for Christmas.

Our Christmas program will be on December 16 at 1:30.

Christmas vacation will begin December 21 - January 4.

The students write dictation sentences on the spelling test. I will be checking for capital letters, punctuation, spelling words spelled correctly, and all words in the sentence written. The sentences will have words previously learned, as well as, spelling words from the present week.
Reminders

Snack Shack is open on Fridays during lunch recess (weather permitting). There is a variety of school board approved snacks for sale, all under 50 cents!

Behavior charts should be signed and returned each day.

Homework binders and take home folders should be returned to school each day.

Please check your child's homework every night to make sure that it is correct and neat.

Wednesday is our Library day. Remind your child to bring their library books to school on that day each week, so another book may be checked out.

Tuesday and Friday are P.E. days. Be sure your child has the appropriate shoes for P.E. on those days.

Tests will be given on Thursday and Friday of this week.
