This is what we are doing during the week of November 30 - December 4, 2009. 

 

Reading: This week we are reading The Gingerbread Man and other festive stories. Ask your child to retell the stories that we read.

 

Language Arts: This week we are discussing the letter Yy. Practice writing your name every night. Our sight word this week is:  is. Read the word bank every night. Also read your Yy story every night and practice your nursery rhyme.

 

Math: We will continue to explore shapes, numbers and colors. We will also be problem solving in our Math journals and learning about patterns and sorting. Keep practicing your birthday, address and phone number!

 

Social Living: Our animal under study is the  yak.
 

Technology: We will be viewing a short video on the yak. We will also be exploring the letter Yy on starfall.com.

 

Our Nursery Rhyme for the week:

Old Mother Hubbard
Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard
To fetch her poor dog a bone.
When she got there the cupboard was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.

 

Field trip permission slip and money is due no later than THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3rd. Our field trip to the Christmas Extravaganza at CHS is on Friday, December 4th.

Polar Express Day is Friday, December 11th. Look for more information soon.

Christmas Program is Tuesday, December 15th at 1:30 in the gym.
 

Snack shack will be closed for the month of December. It will resume in January.
