“Twas the week before Christmas and all through the school…” The
children are very excited about the coming week and the Christmas holidays.
It is such a magical time for little children. Santa is going to be very
busy from what I hear.
Last week we ended our study of holiday customs around the world
with our Polar Express day. We made headbands for Sweden, Kwanzaa mats for
Africa, Christmas trees for Germany, edible reindeer for the United States,
Christmas cards for England and we danced in Mexico. Everyone had so much
fun wearing their pajamas. I can definitely say it was the most comfortable
day. Thank you for sending in all the supplies need for Polar Express.
This week we will read The Elves and the Shoemaker, holiday books,
review letters, sounds, numbers, words, etc. Because it is a review week and
the children are thinking of many things other then school there will be no
homework this week. Over the holidays practice having your child tie their
shoes, address, phone numbers, birth dates. And as always read nightly.

*Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 is our Christmas program in
the gym, family and friends are all invited. Each student
needs a Santa hat for the program. Also, preferably have
your child wear a red collared shirt. If you don’t have red
then have them wear a white one.
*Friday, Dec. 18 is the end of our 2nd nine weeks period.
The children will be dismissed at 12:31. There is no after
school care on half days. Report cards go out after the
                 holidays.
		*Christmas holidays Dec. 21-Jan. 1
*We will continue collecting canned good until Wednesday,
                 Dec. 16.
*If you have any questions please feel free to call.

At this time I’d like to wish all my “families” a safe and joyful holiday.
