WEEK OF DECEMBER 14-18

End of 2nd Nine Weeks
*December 19-January 3-Christmas Break- NO SCHOOL
*January 4-School Resumes
WEEKLY OVERVIEW:
We are packed and ready to go! This week we will be “traveling around the
world visiting different countries to see how they celebrate the holiday
season. As an added Christmas bonus, there will be NO HOMEWORK this week.
However, in the homework binder there is a list of vocabulary words we have
learned during the 1st semester. Students should know all of the words on
that list. Please review this list each night this week with your child.
Continue to review math facts each night with your child as well. Enjoy the
week, and MERRY CHRIST MAS!
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
*Thursday, December 17th is Polar Express Day. We will be
ending our trip around the world with a “visit to the
North Pole.” We will wear our pajamas, drink
chocolate milk, eat donuts, and watch the movie “The Polar Express.”
*We are collecting can goods and non-perishables for the
Food Bank. Please send in items to help replenish the
Food Bank for the holidays. “‘Tis the season to give!”
*Tuesday, December 15th, we will be having our Art Time
“field trip” here on campus. Monday, the 14th, was the last day to send
in your child’s money.
*The First Grade Christmas program is Wednesday,
December 16th at 1:30 p.m. in the gym. Each class will be
performing a special song and dance. Please plan on
joining us for lots of Christmas entertainment!
On Wednesday, I am asking that you send to school with your child, jeans, a
long sleeved shirt (any will do – their favorite is fine) and a cap if your
child wishes to wear one for our performance. Students must wear uniforms to
school and will change before our performance.
REMINDERS:
*There will be NO Snack Shack in the month of December.
Snack Shack will resume in January.
*Behavior charts should be signed and returned each day.
*There will be no spelling or vocabulary test this week.
