                                  Spelling Choices 

*Choose one activity each night to complete for spelling homework.  
Complete spelling choices on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night.  
On Thursday, take a spelling practice test. Make sure your child 
brings the finished product to class to be checked the next day. 
Also, make sure to complete a different spelling activity each night 
during one week. Students may also complete any Spelling choice on 
the 2nd 9 Weeks Choices in the homework binder.

1.Rainbow Spelling- Students write each word using the colors of the 
rainbow.  For example, they would write the word �cat� in red then 
trace it in orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.  

2.Fancy Words- Students write their words and decorate each letter 
in a unique way.

3.Color Words- Students write their words and color all the vowels. 

4.Stair Step Words- Students write their words by adding one letter 
at a time.
        For example

5.Type Words � Use a computer or typewriter to type each word.

6.Picture Words � Draw an illustration for each word.

7.Hidden Word Picture � Draw and color a picture, then hide your 
spelling words in a picture.

8.Dice Words � Roll a die and write the word that many times.
