A Glimpse of the Upcoming Week 

Reading:   Charlotte’s Web continues as we finish reading this classic children’s novel.  Reading assessment will come from class work. 

Spelling:  None

Writing:  There are just a few children still working on their personal essays. No new writing assignment will be given.

Language Arts:  Review of articles will take place. Assessment will come from class work.

Math:  Students will be working on multiple digit division and multiplication throughout the remainder of the school year. 

Science: Students will work to complete their spider research projects.

Social Studies: The three branches of government in Louisiana is our theme in Social Studies. Assessment will come from previously assigned class work/project.

ØCircus Day with Dr. Roth will be Monday, May 14th.

Ø3rdGrade Awards Ceremony will be on Monday, May 21stat 10:00 a.m. I look forward to seeing many of you at this special program honoring the 3rdgraders who will be leaving Lyon for middle school next year.

ØMay 22ndis the last day of school for children. Students will only attend in the morning for ½ day. All students will be   dismissed at 12:31 p.m.  Aftercare will NOT be available on that day. 

ØSTAR Testing and Check Points Testing takes place in the classroom this week.

ØYearbooks orders are still being accepted. The purchase price is $16.00. Your child will cherish the exceptional collection of pictures and memories shared during the 2011-2012 school year.
