Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2009 - 2010 school year at Madisonville Elementary
School! Many of you know me from last year but for some of you, this will be
our first year working together. This will be my 6th year teaching special
education at MES but my 11th year in the school system. Prior to teaching, I
was a paraeducator. I’ve had the privilege of working in the settings of
Severe/Profound, Preschool Early Intervention, and now in the Resource
setting.
Special education is an area that is dear to my heart and a journey
that I have been on for a long while. I came to know the world of special
education and the difficulties that a parent has to deal with when my oldest
child (now 21 years old!) was diagnosed with autism. In addition, my
youngest child is diagnosed with ADHD. My middle child, a girl, was good to
go and has the diagnosis of ‘teenager’!
