December 14 - 18, 2009
This week we will finsih reading "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" by
Barbara Robinson. Your child should study the given vocabulary words nightly
and review the work completed in class. Have your child tell you what the
each chapter was about in their own words and it will help them as well. It
would also be helpful for your child to reread the chapter read in class as
part of their assigned 20 minutes reading homework.
In math, we will continue to with the study of Geometry. However....it is
very important to keep practicing multiplication facts! Daily timed practice
tests will be given. Refer to the "Homework Agenda" for the facts to
practice.
*Family Christmas Tree Projects were awesome! The students enjoyed sharing
how and why they designed the trees the way they did.
*Items for the troops were mailed on Saturday. I would like to thank all
that donated something...we must provide every opportunity to demonstrate the
power of giving to our children.
*Items needed for our Christmas party are due on Wednesday. Please let me
know if you are unable to provide the assigned items so I can make other
arrangements.
~ Reminder: In the classroom, the students are only allowed to wear navy
blue sweaters or sweatshirts.
~ We are almost out of papertowels again.
Please refer to your child's "Weekly Agenda" and Communication Log for
important announcements and reminders! The agenda should also be used as a
guide to make sure your child is completing all assigned homework on a
regular basis. I have noticed that some students are rushing through their
math homework, and when we check over it in class there are many problems
incorrect. It would be helpful and beneficial to your child to check over it
with them.
