Reading:  Please continue to do the timed readings on Monday, Tuesday, and 
Wednesday!  I am also sending home Readers Theater’s scripts for your child 
to read and practice for Friday.  Our story this week is “Cool Jobs” and we 
will be working with the oo sound and reviewing pronouns.

Math –      We will continue chapter 11 in math.  In this chapter we will 
look at patterns and strategies in solving problems such as using doubles, 
counting on, and looking for patterns.  We will continue our facts test 
weekly with a mixed review of addition and subtraction facts.  Students will 
not be given new flashcards to take home.   If your child needs additional 
practice, you may want to make some or purchase them from a discount store.

Social Studies/Science:  This week we will continue discussing space, 
planets, characteristics, and astronauts to go with our Cool Jobs unit in 
reading.  The kids love this!

•	Field Trip money due on Friday for Lancaster trip.
•	May 22 is the last day of school, half day dismissal.
