First Grade Spelling                        Unit 3 : Let’s Connect

Dear Parents,
 Listed below are the spelling lessons we will be studying during the
third unit. Each week students will focus on a specific phonics skill. The
list also includes some high frequency words that students use most often in
writing. On Monday of each week, your child will be given a pretest on the
unit words. I will evaluate the pretest and assign the required word list to
your child based on their weekly needs. Your child should review their
spelling words each night by completing spelling choices for homework. On
Friday, we will take a spelling test. Your child will be graded only on their
list. Please keep this list in their folder as a reference.
