Weekly Math Drills

Dear Parents,                                                               

 

    On Tuesdays, your child will bring home math flashcards.  We will make and use them in class on Monday and Tuesday.  Use them for study purposes with your child on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Your child will have a math facts test on Thursday.  Test dates are listed below.  The touch point method will be taught on the flashcards.  However, students may use any strategy to solve the addition and subtraction facts.

 

 

                         

Addition

  • Touch and count all touch points
  • Touch the greatest number, say its name, and count up

Subtraction

  • Touch the greatest number, say its name, and count backwards

  • Flashcards will not be sent home after March 26th.  However, we will continue to have mixed math facts tests on Thursdays.
  • We may be working on another math skill in class, but we will continue to follow the above schedule.
