*****STAR of the WEEK****
        

This week we are reviewing learning letter/ sound / formation of 
Ff & Oo/Holidays Around the World/ Animals ,rhyming words, 
opposites,color words-  review red, blue, green, orange yellow, purple , 
brown, black , pink , white & gray. 
In Math we working on Chap.5- numbers 11-31-recognizing, writing & 
counting sets 11-20, number combinations to make numbers 11-20, counting by 
2's & 5's, comparing numbers 11-31, greater/ less than, calendar & tallying.
 
 This week we start our travels in Germany to learn about the Christmas tree, 
then on the France to learn about the creche , then to Mexico to learn the 
Mexican hat dance, to learn about La Posada and the legend of the poinsettia 
and the to hear & see "The Polar Express". 
  Reading stategy- When you read with your child, ask him/her questions like: 
Where do you start to read this sentence, what is the first word in this 
sentence, what is at the end of this sentence, why does this sentence have a 
capital at the beginning, what does this sentence have a period, question 
mark or exclamation point, where is the top of the book and the bottom of the 
book. These are all concepts of print. I am getting ready to start testing 
skills for this report card. Concepts of print will be tested.
 Reminders: 
1.All money, notes and homework must be in your child's blue folder. I can 
not check through each child's school bag.
2.All money must be in an envelope with your child's name and what it is for.
3.Please sit with your child as he/she does their homework, but don't do it
for him/her. Homework must be done on primary tablet paper.
4. READ every night to and with your child!
5. Join the PTA, please!We did great! We came in 3rd!
6. Send healthy snack for 20 children on your child's snack day! No nuts, 
please!!! Thanks
7. Go over mistakes on your child's work!
8.Our Reindeer Party is on Thurs. at 8:30-9:15. Hope you can join in the fun! 
NO siblings- there is babysitting available!
9. We need  Expo low odor dry erase markers and cotton balls.
10. Most of the kids need glue sticks and new crayons- 16 count. Think about 
adding crayons, glue sticks and markers to your child's Christmas stocking to 
send to school.
11.Dec. 18th- Pajama Day/ Polar Express Movie/ 1/2 day of school-11:31 
dismissal and NO After Care.
12.If anyone would like to help out at cooking, I am getting ready to make up 
a schedule for Jan. Cooking in DEc. only on Dec. 11- Tara Trythall and Robyn 
Powell will be the parent helpers.
13.Thanks Isaac for sharing all youe info about Hanukkah and for giving each 
child a dreidel. They loved playing the game!
14. Thanks Ella for singing the Swedish song when we went on our journey to 
Sweden!
15. Thanks Mrs. Robyn, Ella's Mom and Mrs. Tara, Savannah T.'s Mom for 
helping us make Yule Logs from England. They were a hit!
