About Me

I am a native of Louisiana. I was born and raised in Slidell, and I moved to
the Hammond area after hurricane Katrina. A tree fell on my car, and I
couldn't commute to Southeastern Louisiana University anymore.

The semester after the hurricane, I was the luckiest student teacher in the
world: I was placed at Madisonville Elementary with Mrs. Milton and Mrs.
Delahoussaye! They were the best mentors a student teacher could ask for, and
I learned so much as I began to fall in love with Madisonville Elementary. I
loved it so much, I stuck around! After graduating college with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education and 1-5 grade Elementary
Education, I was hired to be a part of the amazing faculty here.

This is my fourth year teaching at Madisonville Elementary, and I love my job!
I am passionate about helping children learn and become ready for the real
world. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Anders, and reading
anything I can get my hands on. I also serve on the Executive Board of Kappa
Delta Pi at SLU, an International Honors Society in Education, which keeps me
up to date on new and exciting information in the world of education.

I look forward to working with you and your children this year. Together we
can help children grow and succeed!

Classroom Mission

It is my mission to promote a positive, fun learning environment that allows
all students to learn at their own level and find success on a daily basis.
