HAPPY NEW YEAR

Please replenish your child's markers.  
The following items are needed for the class:
Glue sticks
Wiggle eyes (medium size)
Elmers Glue All-It is in the same area as the regular Elmers School Glue, but 
it must say Glue All.
Old buttons
I need each child to bring in one medium white tube sock.

Also,  January 6th is the official start of King Cake season.  I would like 
someone to volunteer to send a King Cake.  I will talk to the children about 
the meaning of the colors.  Purple-Justice, Gold-Power, Green-Faith

High Frequency Word-are
Number Word-seventeen
Sound Blending Words-hat, hot, hit, hop, hip, hen, and hem

Review high frequency words each night.  Practice saying your address and 
phone number each night. 

Homework

Monday-Practice writing the letter Hh, and review high frequency words.  Read 
the book.  
Tuesday-Practice counting to 100.  Write a sentence with the word are.  
Review high frequency words, and read the book.
Wednesday-Call out the sound blending words to your child.  Your child will 
sound out the word and write it.  Review high frequency words, and read book.
Thursday-Write a sentence about winter.  Count to 100.  Review high frequency 
words and read book.

Feb. 1st-Mary Elizabeth Glass

Cut a poster board in half, and you and your child will make a poster.  
Include pictures of your child, the family, favorite things, 
vacations etc.  You may include anything that describes your child and your 
child’s interest.  Your child will talk about the poster.  The poster should 
be turned in on the Monday of your child’s week.  If you would like, you may 
come to school at 2:00 on the Friday of your child’s week and share a hobby, 
profession, or read a few of your child’s favorite books.  Let me know if you 
are going to come, and what you will be doing.

Show and Tell on Thursday-Jaiden, Cayden, Mia, Ella, Allie, Caden R, and Reece

Important Dates

Friday, January 8th-Report Cards are sent home.

Friday, January 8th-Hat Day-Your child may bring a hat to school to wear in 
the classroom.  It can be a silly hat, or a regular hat.  The hat must fit 
inside the bookbag.

Thursday-Janurary 21st-9:20-10:10 Moms can come to the classroom and make a 
sock snowman with their child.  After you make the snowman with your child, 
you and your child can write a story and draw a picture about the snowman.

Tuesday, Janurary 26th-Science Night with Dad-6:00-7:30

This week will be a week of getting back into the school routine.  I hope 
everyone had a great holiday.
