Monday - November 9, 2009
Spelling-Spelling Contract for Monday- choose an option.
Spelling Words this week for the second grade are as follows: turns, first,
herds, learn, purr, third, earn, nurse, perch, girls,
firm,word,world,serve,worth.
Challenge:preserve, restore,suffered,rainfall.
Reading Story:"Saving the Sand Dunes".
Grade3
Spelling vocabulary as follows:hour, lambs, knew, wrench, kneel, thumbs,
honest,answer,honesty,plumber,honor, known,combs,wrapper,knives,
doubt,knead, wriggle, heir, wrinkle, knuckles, wrestle.
Challenge: numerous,segregation.
The Reading story is as follows: ' My Brother Martin".
The vocabulary words are as follows: unfair, ancestors,numerous,
segregation,unsuspecting,avoided.
Grade1:"Officer Buckle and Gloria": vocabulary as follows:tips, obey,
acident,buddy, enormous, segregation, unsuspecting, avoided.

Grade2/3- choose an operation p.81.
Reading- Monday/Grade1,2,3- 10 minutes or more of reading
assigned book in binder/
parent's initial -A.R. log(even if it is not an A.R. book).
The A.R. system is down school-wide/ it may be a while until your child will
be able to test on A.R., but they are still required to read- A.R. or take-
home book.

Spelling Contract: Choose an assignment from the contract.
Math
Grade1:adding 10's p. 44.
Grade2/3-problem solving p. 82.
Reading Read A.R./ or assigned book for ten or more minutes and sign log.
Wednesday-Nov.11 , 2009
Math worksheet-Grade1- addition and subtraction patterns p. 52.
Grade2/3 Division as sharing p. 83.
Reading- Read for ten minutes(log minutes on A.R.sheet).
Spelling- You must choose an activity from the Spelling contract.
Write a story using eight words from your Spelling list.
Sort the words by the number of syllable using the tree map.
Write words using one color for consonants and another color for vowels.
Thursday- Nov.12, 2009
Math worksheet
Grade1- take me out to the ballgame -p. 55.
Grade2/3-Division as repeated subtraction. p. 84.
Reading- Read for ten minutes.(log minutes on A.R.sheet).
Spelling- Study your Spelling words. Have someone call them out and sign
the paper.
Friday- 13, 2009 No Homework. Have a good week-end.
Social Studies: We are our Pilgrim
Simulation this week. I divided the students into groups and
doing activities together to earn points for their simulation. When we do
have
our Pilgrim Celebration it will be a reinactment of the first celebration.
Third grade students are working hard preparing for the Veteran's Day
celebration with the third grade teachers.This will take place on Veteran's
Day at 10:30.
