Announcements small medium large A Note From Mrs.Desselles Dear Parents, Our field trip to a Holiday Extravaganza was very festive and was filled with a lot of holiday cheer. All the students need to replenish their glue sticks. Just about every day we use glue so it runs out very fast. Most kids are out .Please send some as soon as possible. Thanks so much. The kids are having a fun time taking our imaginary plane trip as we visit countries around the world. This week we will tour England, Israel, and Sweden and learn about their holiday traditions. Our Christmas Party will take place on Thurs. December 16, 2009 8:30- 9:15. On the half day of school Dec.18, 2009 will be Pajama Day since we will be watching The Polar Express. The kids love that day. What We’re Learning This Week We will begin Unit 5. Each week we will focus a certain letter in the alphabet. Themes: How Animals Change and Grow /Christmas around the World Stories: Animal Babies ABC, The Three Bears, The Nutcracker and leveled readers Letter and Sound Recognition: Ff High Frequency Words: play review is, have, to, go, see, a, like, the, we, am, can, I Color Word: review gray, white, pink black, brown, purple, orange, green, yellow, blue, red Vocabulary: position words Oral Vocabulary: parent and information Phonemic Awareness: phoneme isolation phoneme segmentation, phoneme blending, Comprehension: Classify and Categorize Math Voc.: eleven, twelve ,thirteen ,fourteen, fifteen,sixteen,seventeen ,eighteen , nineteen,twenty,and will write number using objects to represent quantities 20-31, estimate quantities of groups, greater ,less, numbers on the calendar, equally likely, more/most likely, less/least likely .Review reading and writing numbers one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,eight,nine and ten. Homework Read with your child each night! Please send all homework in blue homework folder on Friday. Challenge Activities will be denoted by . These are extra activities. They’re not required. Monday – Read a story and draw a picture of your favorite part. .Review reading high frequency words – play, is, have, to, go, see, a, like, the, we, am can, I Write a sentence with play Tuesday – Read decodable passage and do handwriting sheet. Review reading all color words gray,white,pink,black,brown,purple,orange,green,yellow,blue,red Write a sentence with a word that begins with f.** Wednesday -Do math worksheet. Review reading number words 1-10- one,two,three,four,five,six,seven,eight,nine,ten Thursday – Do reading worksheet page 111 and 112. Read: Play ven, eight, nine, ten reading and writing numbers . Show –n-Tell: On Friday, your child can bring an object or a picture of something that begins with Ff. It is must be able to fit in your child’s booksack.Please try to bring in an item.
