Just a Little About Me

I was born and raised in Mandeville, so I am thrilled to have the
opportunity to be a part of the Mandeville High School community.

I graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1986 with a Bachelor's
degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Secondary Education. I completed
a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Southeastern Louisiana
University in 2004. I began teaching in the New Orleans area immediately
after graduation at O. Perry Walker High School in Algiers and then at John
Ehret High School in Marrero. Then, I came home.

I am certified to teach Biology, Physical Science and Earth Science. I am
also certified to be a secondary school administrator.

I love my job and I look forward to coming to school every day. Really... I
do. Seriously. I have the best job in the world.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:

I am a co-sponsor of both Science Club and Youth in Government (formerly
known as Hi-Y).

Science Club meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:00 in room 204.
Science Club is active both academically (Science Bowl and Science Olympiad)
and in community service (Keep Mandeville Beautiful).

Youth in Government meets Tuesday nights from 7 to 8 pm in the MHS Library. Y
in G is affiliatd with the YMCA. Its goal is to interest Louisiana's youth in
government and how government works. Y in G offers students the opportunity
to develop skills in both public speaking and debating. We participate every
year in both Model United Nations and Louisiana Youth Legislature.

Everyone is welcome in both clubs.
