Reflections Arts Contest

Mandeville High School Artists represent MHS in PTA District and State Level Competitions

The PTA Reflections Program is a national-level arts recognition and achievement program for students in preschool through grade 12. It offers young artists the opportunity to express themselves creatively and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a student provided theme. The 2016-2017 national theme was “What is your story?” and four MHS students rose to the challenge provided by PTA and submitted entries for judging at the St. Tammany PTA district level.

Mandeville High artists this year included Destiny Grass, Sophomore, in the category of Visual Arts and her entry titled “A Horse Story”; Hope Cassady, Sophomore, in the category of Literature and her entry titled, “Mirror, Mirror”; William Dunford, Junior, in the category of Photography and his entry titled, “Fair Lights”, and Peter Cassady, Junior, in the category of Literature and his entry titled, “IF”. Each student demonstrated remarkable talent and initiative and the PTSA was very proud to submit their entries on behalf of Mandeville High.

The entries by Hope Cassady and Peter Cassady were each selected for Awards of Excellence at the District Level for High School Literature and advanced to Louisiana State PTA judging. Peter Cassady received a state-level Award of Merit for his entry.
