Mandeville High School
World Geography & Government
I graduated twice from the University of New Orleans with Bachelors degrees in
Business Administration and Interdisciplinary Studies. I am in the process of
completing my Masters of Arts in Teaching, also with the University of New
Orleans. I am a graduate of St. Tammany Public schools and I am proud to
return to the school system as a teacher.
My planning periods are 3rd (fall only) and 4th (fall and spring).
I am happy to offer tutoring after school by request.
My mission for my students is to encourage them to think for themselves and
apply what they learn in their coursework to their own experiences. Geography
will take them past the maps and into the lives and economies of people around
the globe. We will gain an appreciation for the lifestyles, religions,
history, languages, and populations of the areas. Government will introduce
the students to the basics of the American system. I strive to ensure the
students will leave the class more informed of the intricacies of the
capitalist system and the value of being an informed citizen. Finally, the
students will acknowledge how their attitudes and beliefs of these cultures
and governments change as their knowledge bases increases.
