What is the band uniform?

Concert performances-Band uniform shirt (tucked in), plain black 
dress pants and solid-colored black shoes. A plain black belt is 
optional.

Football Game Performances-Band Uniform Shirt, Khaki Pants or 
shorts and tennis shoes

Does the band perform at football games?

The band performs at least two HOME football games each season. 
Football games take  place during the Falland the games are at 
MHS Stadium.

Where can I keep my instrument during the day?

Each band student is assigned a storage area in the band room.  
This is a place band students may put instruments while they are 
not in use.  If a student wants to bring their instrument home, 
they may pick it up at the end of the day in the band room.

How many concerts does the band perform?

During the school year, the Full Band (Intermediate and Advanced 
classes) performs a Holiday Concert in December, a Spring Concert 
in April/May and band festival performances during March. There 
are also several football games performances as well. Beginning 
Band students are only required to perform at the Winter and 
Spring Concerts.

Can I still be in band if I am in sports, dance team or cheerleaders?

Yes!  It is important while you are in junior high that you try 
what interests you.  Make sure that you can make the commitmnet 
to more than one organzation then we can work out 
rehearsal/practice schedules with sponsers when conflicts arise.

Does the band go on trips?

Yes we do! This past year, our band went on 2 trips to Parish 
Band Festival and District Band Festival.

Which band class should I sign up for?

If you were a band student at your previous school then you 
should sign up for intermediate band.  Advanced band is for 8th 
graders only, students who have been playing for at least 3 
years. Advanced band class is by permission of the director only.
