About The Teacher
Hello! My name is Crystal Etue and I will be your child’s new Social Studies teacher here at Monterey. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I am very excited for the upcoming year and hope that we can work together to ensure each student’s success. Education is a group effort and requires as much parent participation as possible. With this said I am very open to your input and suggestions and will do my best to make myself available to you. First, a little bit about me. I am originally from Los Angeles, California but have lived many places in and out of the country. I served almost ten years in the United States Air Force when I completed my Bachelors degree at California State University, Fullerton. Being a member of our Armed Forces has exposed and enlightened me to the fundamental ideals that our country was founded on. I hope to impart much of this knowledge and experience to your children. I am a wife and mother of two; Austin who is 10 and Griffin who is almost 2. My husband, Keith is from this area and we moved here two years ago. It’s a far cry from Los Angeles but I think I’m adjusting well. As your child’s Social Studies teacher, I will be teaching the following subjects (so they may have me for more than one hour); American History, World History, Civics and Free Enterprise. I will expect a lot from your children and hope that I will have your support throughout the year. My expectations are fairly simple: 1. Complete all reading and assignments on time. 2. Be courteous and respectful to me and fellow students at all times. 3. Participate in class discussions and activities (I encourage free thinking.) 4. Be prepared for all tests and quizzes. 5. Come to class everyday, on time and prepared to learn. 6. And never be afraid to ask questions. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s progress. My contact information is listed below. Again, I look forward to working with all of you and am eager to get started. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your community. Sincerely, Crystal Etue School: 318-386-2214 Email: cetue@cpsbla.us
