Dear NSU E-Lab Families,
On behalf of the PALS Board, I am excited to welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year!
Countless studies show the importance of parental involvement in schools, and the measurable positive impact it has on overall student achievement. Kids do better in school when their families are involved. These families make up our school community. Strengthening this sense of “community” is one of PALS main goals this year. It is with this in mind that I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join our PALS organization.
The Parents At Lab School organization’s mission and purpose is simply, “to enhance the learning environment of NSU E-lab.” We do that in a variety of ways ranging from volunteering in the classroom or for school-wide events, to sponsoring educationally enriching productions and incentive programs for our students. We also use funds raised to purchase items needed for overall school improvement.
This year we have established four main goals. We are working toward:
· - improving membership and participation in PALS
· - embracing the idea of “community”
· - establishing a budget and safe fund
· - improving media exposure of NSU E-Lab
To learn more about these goals, and how we hope to reach them, join us for any or all of our monthly PALS meetings. The meeting times and other details will be e-mailed and posted on our website and Facebook.
For new parents and students we encourage you to ask questions. We’ve been there. We understand. Feel free to contact me or any of our members. We will be more than happy to help you in any way we can. Please "Like" us on Facebook. You can follow more PALS activity there.
NSU E-Lab and PALS takes great pride in its tremendous parent volunteer support. You really make a difference! I look forward to working with you ALL!
Sincerely,
Jamie Hogg
