Hello, My name is Deborah Brumfield and I have been teaching school for 16
years. The last 7 years I have been here at Northshore High School in
Slidell.
I live an hour away north of Bogalusa and drive here every day along with my
son. I have two Bachelor degrees and a Master in Art Education from USM.
I have been taking students, parents, and teachers to Europe on educational
trips for 8 years. These trips are not school or parish sponsored but
private tours. Anyone can go just contact me. Greece is summer of 2009.

My mission is for my students to receive a well rounded education which
includes a working knowledge of the visual arts and it's relationship to the
other core subjects being taught. It is a proven fact that students who
study the arts score higher on standardized tests. Besides this fact, when
you experience the creative process you develop your own capabilities for
self-expresssion and learn how to resolve problems. Humans are a creative
species. and we depend on our creativty to meet the demands of daily life.
Art involves communication. When artworks and humans interact, many
possibilites exist. I want my students to be creative, communicate and
intereact effectively thus having a well rounded education.
