English IV

March 23rd-March 27th...We're doing our Senior Project Presentations this 
week in the auditorium!!  Also...you're "Music Essay" is due to me this 
week.  Be sure to put it in my hands:)  And your Book Reports are due next 
Wednesday, April 1st.  I know you are all so busy, but the year is almost 
done!!  Prom this Saturday...YEAH!!

March 9-13..Monday we will have a quiz on the life of William Shakespeare.  
you will be able to use your notes so be sure that you written them as 
completely as possible.  Tuesday, you will read your sonnet to the class and 
show the illustrated poster.  Wednesday we will give the instructions for 
your book report on your novel.  Thursday will be a computer lab day to give 
you an opportunity to research your novel's author to learn as much about 
him 
or her as possible.  Friday is a reading day.

March 2-5...We have a Hmalet sonnet to write which is due March 10th.  We'll 
be taking notes on the Shakespeare biography.  A quiz on the notes is 
Monday, 
March 9th.  Procedures for the Senior Research Presentations will be 
discussed.

February 16-20...We are finishing Hamlet this week.  The test is Thursday, 
Feb. 19th.  The answers to the 78 packet questions are also due Thursday.  
Please remember that the answers need to be written or typed in complete 
sentences.  Wednesday, we will watch the Project Graduation DVD to encourage 
you to purchace your reservations this week.  The moms will be in the 
commons area Wed and Thurs at all three lunches.

February 9-13...Hamlet Acts 3 and 4 this week.  The next reading day is 
Friday.  Project Graduation reservations are still available for $30.  You 
all should be working on your Senior Project Presentation which will be 
given the week of March 23-27th.  Here's your hidden surprise:  On Friday's 
novel journal, draw a "happy face" next to your name, and you'll earn an 
extra 3 points on the journal!!  YEAH:)

February 2-6..Hamlet is on the adgenda for the week...continue to work on 
your packets and remember that we'll have quizzes after every act.  Friday 
will be our second reading day (Hope you're enjoying your novel!).  Interims 
go out Thursday so please check STI to see if your grades are all correct. 
Project Graduation reservations can be purchased from me...$30 and make 
checks out to Project Graduation. 

January 26-30...Have your novel choices Monday morning!!  January 29th 
students can get extra help with Senior Presentations.  We will continue 
Hamlet this week and read and write about our novel Friday.

January 20-24..
Be sure that you have Hamlet tomorrow for 5 bonus points.  Also, If on a 
small, indecreet, piece of paper you tell me how excited you are to begin 
reading Hamlet, I'll give you an extra 2 bonus point!  Hand this paper to me 
when you work through the classroom door.  I miss you and we are all ready 
to move full-steam-ahead!!

January 12-16..We will be working on famous speeches in preparation for the 
inauguration.  You'll have an essay to write identifying literary terms in 
the "I Have a Dream" essay.  Remember that Hamlet is due on the 21st and 
your novel choice on the 26th.  Bring in a school supply before Friday for 
bonus points.

January 5-9..Welcome to English IV.  We'll review the course syllabus and do 
the "Getting to Know You"  assignment.  I've asked students to obtain a copy 
of Hamlet for January 19st, and they need to select and obtain a copy of 
their independent novel for January 28th.
