We went to the computer lab to work on the research paper (Rough Draft & Outline due Monday, December 1. It's late on December 2 and WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED after that!! NO EXCEPTIONS!) Students were given copies of the novel Night and the study guide for it today. We will be reading this novel from now until the end of the nine weeks and it will be a major portion of the final exam.

Think of some famous villains from real life, literature, movies, or television. Pick one of these figures and discuss the following questions:

o What motivates this criminal mind?

o Is this person evil by nature or has something happened to turn him or her to criminal activity?

o What in this person's behavior serves as a clue to his or her personality?

o Do you feel any sympathy or understanding for this person? Why or Why not?

o Complete the mind map using mostly pictures to characterize the villain you’ve chosen. Respond to the questions in complete sentences on the back of your graphic.

Use your mind map to depict symbols and key words that show what the villain values or thinks about.
